Animal Friends

Eisler Landscapes helped create effecient parking at this local no-kill animal shelter's new location by installing multiple retaining walls. Turf stone, a form of permeable paving, was used instead of asphalt for an occassionally used maintence access drive. Turfstone provides the natural look of grass but with the stability of pavers. The pavers are interlocking with cutouts to allow the grass to grow through and prevent soil and rainwater runoff. Donor bricks were installed at the entrance to the shelter.

Plantings were used to soften the space and help it blend into the woodsy surroundings. Plantings included pear, maple, hornbeam, honeylocust, elm, white pine, spruce trees. Ornamental grasses and bayberry were used at the edge of the parking lot.
